Snapshot® Seasonal Weed Control

Safe, Science-Backed Weed Prevention

Weeds We Target

Snapshot controls over 100 different weed species. Common targets include:

Crabgrass
Chickweed
Mustard
Oxalis
Pigweed
Spurge
Annual Bluegrass
Purslane
Filaree
Cudweed
Henbit
Knotweed

...and many more annual grasses and broadleaf weeds common to Central Coast landscapes.

How Snapshot® Works

Snapshot is a professional-grade pre-emergent herbicide that prevents weed seeds from successfully germinating. Unlike post-emergent herbicides that kill existing weeds, Snapshot creates a barrier in the top layer of soil that stops weeds before they ever break the surface.

The active ingredients work by inhibiting cell division in germinating seeds. When weed seeds begin to sprout, they encounter the treated soil layer and cannot develop normal root and shoot growth. The result: weeds never emerge, and your landscape stays clean.

Because Snapshot targets the germination process specifically, it does not affect established plants with developed root systems. Your existing shrubs, trees, and perennials continue to thrive while weed competition is eliminated.

When We Apply

Fall

October - November

Fall application targets winter annual weeds that germinate with autumn rains. This timing catches chickweed, annual bluegrass, and cool-season grasses before they establish.

Spring

February - March

Spring application prevents summer annual weeds including crabgrass, spurge, and pigweed. This timing ensures protection through the warm growing season.

Our seasonal program with both applications provides year-round weed prevention for consistently clean landscapes.

Safety Information

Is Snapshot safe for my established plants?

Yes. Snapshot works by preventing seed germination in the soil surface. Established plants with developed root systems are not affected. We carefully apply around desirable plantings.

What about pets and children?

Once Snapshot is watered in and the treated area is dry, it poses minimal risk to pets and children. The active ingredients bind to soil particles and do not readily transfer to skin or fur.

Can I plant new seeds after application?

Snapshot prevents all seed germination, including desirable seeds. If you plan to seed new areas, let us know so we can adjust the application or timing. Transplants and established plants can be added anytime.

How long does protection last?

A single application typically provides 3-6 months of protection, depending on irrigation, rainfall, and soil type. Our seasonal program ensures year-round coverage.
